This position is available at our 1208 S 3rd St. location in Wilmington, NC

Part-time hours (no more than 20 hrs per week)

Responsibilities:

The ReStore Cashier ensures that buyers and donors receive professional, timely, and efficient service. The cashier records all point of sale transactions, bags purchases, and maintains organized shelves and merchandise. Reporting to the ReStore Manager, the cashier works with staff to ensure the front of the store is welcoming to all customers.

This job description is not exhaustive, and the ReStore Manager reserves the right to assign or delegate additional tasks as necessary.

Duties:

• Represent ReStore professionally when dealing with buyers, donors, volunteers, staff, and the public in person and over the phone
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting shoppers
• Answer customer questions and explain store policies and procedures
• Operate the point of sale register
• Open, close, and verify cash in the register
• Complete sales transactions accurately and maintain cash accountability
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change
• Label goods as sold, carryout, or sale-pending
• Stock and maintain merchandise safely and adequately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment
• Encourage volunteer participation and contribute to a positive atmosphere
• Perform any other duties assigned by management

Requirements:

• Commitment to Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s mission
• Knowledge of basic cash handling is a plus but not required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic mathematical skills
• Availability to work Saturdays
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs, stand, squat, bend, walk, and climb regularly
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to meet deadlines set by the manager
• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
