This position's main goal is to check out customer purchases quickly and accurately and provide prompt, friendly customer service. This position reports to the Store Manager and any Person in Charge (PIC). It should not exceed 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities
  • Know and follow store policies and procedures.
  • Be a mature and productive team member.
  • Relate and interact with co-workers in a harmonious and respectful manner.
  • Follow the work schedule assigned by the manager.
  • Keep the store safe for customers and staff.
  • Answer and route phone calls, take messages as needed.
  • Perform tasks assigned by the store manager and PICs.
  • Alert PIC or store manager to potential shoplifters, disorderly customers, safety concerns, equipment problems, or other emergencies, in a timely manner.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, assisting with stocking and inventory, handling returns, and training new staff in cashiering and store operations.

Customer Service responsibilities involve greeting customers, offering suggestions, providing product knowledge, assisting with special orders, and ensuring excellent service at all opportunities.

Cash Handling duties include setting up and closing cash drawers accurately, recounting deposits, and making safe deposits following established procedures.

Stocking Responsibilities include stocking shelves, rotating stock, labeling items, receiving deliveries, and maintaining store cleanliness and equipment in good working order.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds rarely, standing, walking, bending, twisting, and occasional climbing, mostly indoors with some outdoor exposure to weather conditions.

Salary: $12.00 - $14.50 per hour
