Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16+ is required.
• TABC/LACT certification is required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct checkout totals by weighing, keying, and scanning items and maintains accurate money in the register.
• Accesses or memorizes product codes and remains familiar with ads and specials.
• Maintains knowledge of tender policies for checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, WIC, AML, etc.
• Provides friendly, customer-service oriented assistance and answers questions while promoting products.
• Encourages enrollment in the Thank You Card program and assists with sign-up when applicable.
• Bags groceries properly and ensures items are correctly separated, without cross-contamination.
• Adheres to safety procedures and keeps the front-end and store areas clean and organized.
• Complies with local, state, and federal laws regarding sales of restricted items such as tobacco and alcohol.
