Position Summary : The hourly pay for this position is $12 per hour
The Counter-Cashier Worker will be responsible for taking customer orders, operating the cash register, handling payments, and providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring a positive experience for all our guests. Candidates must have a health card to apply. This role reports to the Kitchen Manager.
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately, including customizing orders and suggesting menu items.
- Operate the cash register, process payments (cash, credit, or debit), and handle customer transactions efficiently.
- Ensure all orders are properly prepared, packaged, and ready for delivery or pick-up.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, dining area, and restrooms.
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to, including proper handling, storing, and sanitation of food items.
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a calm and professional manner, escalating to management as needed.
- Keep track of inventory, restock supplies, and notify management of low stock levels.
- Assist with food prep, cleaning, and other tasks as needed during slower periods.
- Provide a positive and welcoming environment for customers, ensuring they have a great dining experience.
- Ensure all required health, safety, and legal certifications are up to date.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid Health Card.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Sheriff work card and TAM card.
- Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, or working in a restaurant.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Physical Requirements
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to;
- Lifting, up to 50 pounds
- Bending, pushing, pulling and / or extended walking and standing
- Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
- Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
This role may also require uniforms and / or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
