Summary:
Cashiers/clerks are responsible for every aspect of a customer’s transaction. In this position, you will be in charge of processing cash, checks, or credit card payments while making sure to provide the customer with a receipt, all while providing excellent customer service. A Cashier/Clerk must have a strong work ethic, a high level of accuracy, be responsible, and be attentive to customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Takes a high volume of incoming calls for towing services and police impounds.
- Assists customers and representatives of local law enforcement agencies with any questions they have regarding the release of vehicles and laws specifically related to towing and impounding vehicles.
- Performs releases of impounded vehicles for customers. (Customers may be upset, disheveled, confused, and volatile.)
- Responsible for understanding the correct paperwork and identification needed to release a vehicle(s) to the customer.
- This includes depositing cash and credit/debit card receipt info into the safe daily.
- Process impound paperwork and maintain compliance with all requirements of the law.
- Data entry for stock cards and delivery receipts.
- Complete the balance “drop” forms for cash and invoices received daily at the end of their shift.
- Handles internal Tow Operators' and external Tow Operators’ inquiries with respect and in a timely fashion.

Education and/or Experience:
- 1-3 years of related experience preferred in customer service and basic computer knowledge.
- Previous experience counting cash is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working in customer service, face-to-face, in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
Language Skills:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers (s)/Supervisors, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
