Job summary

Tartine Bakery is seeking a part-time Cashier/Barista in Pasadena. You will greet guests, take orders, process payments and assist with service tasks. The role emphasizes hospitality, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will contribute to a welcoming experience, maintain cleanliness, and support daily operations while offering guests warm and memorable service.

Qualifications

• 1 year in the service industry or similar setting.
• Strong communication with guests and staff.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to excellent hospitality and guest experience.
• Familiarity with restaurant apps and POS tech.

Responsibilities

• Promote and deliver Tartine hospitality with guests.
• Actively engage with guests and maintain floor presence.
• Assist with opening/closing tasks and daily duties.
• Clear tables, run food and beverages when needed.
• Ensure Tartine quality standards on all items.
• Communicate with back‑of‑house to keep ticket times on track.
• Keep the store clean and welcoming at all times.

Activities And Responsibilities

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of TARTINE.
• Actively engaged with guests and always maintain a floor presence
• Filling in wherever necessary to get the job done
• Perform service tasks, such as clearing tables, running food and drinks when necessary
• Able to complete tasks as directed including opening, closing task lists
• Familiar with computers and POS systems
• Ensure that every Tartine guest feels warm and welcome
• Ensure that the store is in pristine order at all times
• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the Tartine quality standards
• Communicate with back-of-house management effectively to ensure ticket times are appropriate for the pace of service and ensure a positive synergy between the front and back teams.
