Job summary

The Salvation Army store in Plano is seeking a full-time Store Associate to assist customers, operate the cash register, and maintain store cleanliness and presentation.

Responsibilities include handling cash, assisting donors, answering calls, and keeping displays neat and secure. Prior retail experience is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is desirable. This on-site position offers consistent hours in a retail environment.

• Clean racks, shelves, floors, windows and help maintain overall store cleanliness.
• Answer store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner.

• Assists store customers in selecting and purchasing items.
• Operate and maintain a cash register; collect monies, count change, and prepare receipts; balance the cash register drawer and print routine register print-outs; prepare and deliver bank deposits.
• Respond to customers questions and assist customers who are donating items.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of merchandise and displays.
• Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area; secure merchandise and the cash register.
• Clean display racks and shelves; sweep and mop floors; clean windows, mirrors, and help maintain overall cleanliness of store.
• Answer the store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred and experience working in a retail store preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
