Job description

At Wegmans, our cashiers ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. In this role, you'll provide proactive, excellent customer service by assisting customers at traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes. You will leave a lasting impression, transforming first-time shoppers into loyal Wegmans customers.

What will I do?

1. Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact, smile, proactively offer assistance, and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
2. Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments at the register.
3. Properly bag items to ensure they arrive in the same condition as they left the store.
4. Manage traffic flow at self-checkout, direct customers to available lanes, ensure lanes are operational, and assist with troubleshooting.
5. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
