Job Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures following company policy.
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages, and work honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
- Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
