Cashiers process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.

Checkers understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.

Checkers adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly and effectively to control loss.

Cashiers follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).

Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.

Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.

Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management.

Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of repairs needed.

Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.

Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.

Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
