Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss control.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and store navigation.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
