Responsibilities:

  1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
  3. Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  7. Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
  8. Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  9. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
  10. Inspect equipment regularly and notify maintenance of repairs needed.
  11. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
  12. Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  13. Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  14. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  16. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  17. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
  18. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
