Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
- Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
- Adhering to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
- Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Managing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons per established policies.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures, and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and providing excellent service.
- Following all applicable laws and company guidelines.
- Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
- Following directions and seeking assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Providing support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
