Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
