Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at checkouts.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, stressful environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
