Description

The Cashier is responsible for creating and facilitating an environment focused on guest relations while ensuring the financial integrity of each transaction throughout the shift. Responsibilities include verifying initial cash, answering phone calls, making coffee/tea, cooking soups, setting up displays, and managing the condiment station and front-of-house setup. Additional duties involve making beverages, stocking FOH, frosting cakes, cutting bars/brownies, and managing trash and cleaning tasks. The role may also include substituting for Expo, SA, or bussing as needed.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Make coffee/tea and other drinks as required, serving as barista for specialty drinks.
• Package sweets and cakes.
• Maintain and change displays based on time of day.
• Set up and maintain condiment station and FOH setup.
• Operate cashier station and ensure accurate cash flow.
• Verify initial cash and ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Answer phones and describe food offerings, allergens, and nutrition.
• Engage in upselling and suggestive selling.
• Frost cakes, cut bars/brownies, and keep FOH stocked.
• Empty trash, mop, and sweep as required.
• Communicate effectively with guests and resolve issues promptly.
• Support company initiatives and follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with delivering food, bussing, cleanup, and restocking as needed.
• Check restroom cleanliness and perform additional duties such as cleaning, food prep, and display setup.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Food Handler Card/ServSafe certification if applicable.
• Preferably 3 months of experience in cash handling, in restaurant or retail environments.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in POS systems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
