Summary:
Provides prompt, accurate service in sales recording at point-of-service operations within UNC Hospitals. The role involves significant direct contact with the public, including hospital employees, medical staff, university students, and visitors, friends, and family of patients.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in maintaining vendor products through merchandising and support activities in dining areas, including preparing and serving food, tray preparation, restocking, adding ice to soda machines, brewing/transferring coffee, and cleaning/sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
2. Follow all safety and security measures related to cash handling and comply with departmental safety requirements.
3. Maintain or enhance customer self-esteem during transactions and effectively communicate with various age groups, managing negative events when conflicts arise.
4. Adhere to cash handling standards as per the cashiers manual and maintain sanitation standards of Grade A by enforcing proper practices.
5. Provide financial reports (daily, weekly, monthly) as required and maintain documents necessary for sales receipt audits.
6. Record sales accurately, complete transactions with cash, approved meal tickets, or checks, and address customer concerns and complaints appropriately.
