Responsibilities include:

• Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
• Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures following company policies.
• Adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
• Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Inspecting equipment regularly and notifying management of repairs needed.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers, assisting with questions about products.
• Complying with all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.
• Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
