Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Follow guidelines on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
  • Adhere to restrictions on sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations.
  • Reinforce safety procedures, report unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, assisting with product questions.
  • Follow all laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
