Job summary

Homeland is seeking a part-time Food Clerk-Cashier in Perry to greet customers, process purchases, and maintain a clean checkout area. This hourly position emphasizes accurate cash handling and friendly service in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate scanners, scales, and registers, assist customers with product locations, and follow store procedures for coupons and payments. The role requires basic math, reliability, and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Basic Mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and ring out customers politely.
• Process customer purchases quickly and accurately at the register, scanner, and scale.
• Keep the register area clean and organized, including check lanes, registers, and scales.
• Prevent loss by careful handling, correct coupon/VIC acceptance, and proper cash handling.
• Ensure safety of self and customers by following store safety rules and reporting hazards.
• Bag purchases quickly and correctly; operate the cash register, scanner, scale, and intercom system.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisors and managers.
