Responsibilities include:

  • Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhering to cash handling limits and controlling loss.
  • Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Reporting pricing discrepancies.
  • Managing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying maintenance as needed.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers and assisting with product inquiries.
  • Complying with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and managing conflict appropriately.
  • Maintaining honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed.
  • Supporting diverse customer needs, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
