Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

1. Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly as a Cashier/Checker.
2. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
3. Understand the POS system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
4. Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss honestly and effectively.
5. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
6. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
7. Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
8. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
9. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
10. Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
11. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
12. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
13. Follow all relevant laws and company guidelines.
14. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
15. Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
16. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
17. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
18. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
19. Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
