Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
- Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
- Adhering to cash shortage/overage limits and working to control loss.
- Following guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
- Reporting pricing discrepancies and following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Complying with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers, assisting with product questions.
- Following all applicable laws and company guidelines.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
- Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
- Supporting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
