Steve Madden Retail Careers is seeking a part-time Cashier to provide outstanding customer service at the POS, ensuring accurate transaction processing and strong product knowledge.

Greet customers, support store operations, and adapt to inventory tasks as needed with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate POS and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the POS, processing transactions accurately.
• Maintain product knowledge and deliver outstanding service.
• Complete sales transactions while maintaining cash accountability.
• Assist in store operations, merchandising, and inventory returns as needed.
• Support receiving and replenishment of merchandise on the floor.
• Be flexible to perform additional duties as required.

Cashier (P/T)

The Cashier is responsible for listening and responding appropriately to customer needs, maintaining extensive product knowledge, and exhibiting professionalism at the POS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outstanding customer service standards, possess solid product knowledge, greet and acknowledge every customer, and address any and all concerns by the customer at POS.
• Reinforce a rewarding customer experience.
• Complete all sales transactions accurately and efficiently, while maintaining all cash accountabilities at registers.
• Assist in various store operations, including floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, cleaning duties when necessary, and returning products to inventory as needed.
• Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
• Be flexible to occasionally perform work outside your specific role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
