Job Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting issues to management.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department of repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers and answering questions about products throughout the store.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
