• Provide excellent customer service to include being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers entering & exiting the cafe.
• Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages.
• Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
• Responsible for maintaining clean work station and service or seating areas.
• May prepare or package foods, including but not limited to, breakfast, lunch or grab and go items.
• Set up or restock product displays and work stations.
• Wrap, label, or date food items per company guidelines.
• May be responsible for washing dishes, utensils or other equipment as assigned. May take out garbage.
• Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or equipment to ensure proper working condition.
• Ability to demonstrate the use of equipment, such as coffee brewers.
• Assist with taking inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Responsible for cash management. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, such as mopping floors and emptying trash cans.
• Weigh items sold by weight to determine prices.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
