Cashier / Retail Staff– The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor

Seasonal Position: Sept 19th - Nov 2nd 2025

Starting at $18.50 per hour,

On-site Location: 1126 Queens Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90802

Position Summary

Step into the shadows as the first face our guests encounter at the haunted attraction. As our Cashier, you’re not just handling transactions—you’re the gatekeeper to the unknown, setting the stage for every spine-chilling adventure. You'll process payments with eerie efficiency, keep a watchful eye on inventory, and elevate each guest’s visit with outstanding service and clever upselling. Your energy and charisma will ignite excitement, ensuring every visitor’s journey begins with a thrill they’ll never forget. Requirements

Transaction Processing

  • Operate the Square payment system to process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Issue receipts, handle refunds or exchanges, and balance the cash register with end-of-day reports to keep finances in check.

Customer Service

  • Greet guests with a haunting smile, offering friendly yet mysterious assistance from the moment they arrive.
  • Answer questions about the attraction, pricing, and special offers, and resolve concerns or complaints with professionalism and poise.

Upselling and Add-ons

  • Promote and sell add-ons, exclusive merchandise, and experience upgrades to enhance each guest’s visit and drive revenue.
  • Inform guests about bundle deals and special promotions, using your persuasive skills to maximize their excitement.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor merchandise stock levels, report low inventory to management, and assist in restocking shelves to keep displays enticing and organized.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and support smooth retail operations.

Queue Management

  • Assist in managing the queue line, maintaining efficient guest flow and building anticipation as visitors await their entry into the haunted experience.
  • Support Ticketing issues and questions.

Team Coordination and Adaptability

  • Take direction from supervisors and adapt your role as needed to accommodate operational changes or variations in guest traffic.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with fellow actors, technicians, and management to ensure seamless, safe, and high-quality operations.

Qualifications

  • Flexible availability to work evenings and weekends, with a strong commitment to reliable and consistent attendance.
  • Comfortable standing and moving throughout the event area for extended periods during each shift.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and poise.
  • Experience operating the Square payment system, or demonstrated ability to learn new point-of-sale technology quickly and efficiently.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for restocking and inventory management tasks.
