Cashiers process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
Checkers understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
Checkers must understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly to control loss.
Cashiers need to follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to store management.
Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
