Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is seeking a friendly Cashier to provide customer service and handle transactions at the La Grange store.

The role includes operating the cash register, greeting donors, stocking and organizing textiles and other goods, and assisting with floor recovery and merchandising according to guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register with accuracy and handle transactions.
• Greet donors and customers and provide friendly service.
• Sort, stock, and merchandise items on the retail floor.
• Maintain neat, clean store areas and organize textiles and goods.
• Assist with collection, stocking and recovery of used goods as needed.
• Follow merchandising guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

A Cashier will execute customer service in accordance with Goodwill Standard Operating Procedure. Cashiers will be required to perform register transactions using a combination of cash register and credit card terminal with a high degree of accuracy. When customer service or register transactions are not available, the cashier will work in the collection, stocking and recovery of used goods on the retail floor.

Essential Job Functions:

• Follows all defined safety absolutes.
• Operates cash register with a high degree of accuracy.
• Correctly identifies proper textile categories according to defined guidelines.
• Displays great customer service by greeting donors and customers.
• Keeps areas clean, including inside and outside the store.
• Sorts material as required and stocks material in stores.
• Maintains textile category, sizing and quality of goods on the retail sales floor.
• Arranges shoes, media and accessory items on the retail sales floor.
• Rotates stock in accordance with defined guidelines
• Recovers product on sales floor to ensure established merchandising guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports To : Retail Manager or designee.
