Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Range: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour.
