Responsibilities include:

  • Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various payment methods, including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures.
  • Adhering to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Reporting pricing discrepancies and managing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
  • Staying updated on current and upcoming promotions and advertisements.
  • Following food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintaining equipment and creating a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions and product information.
  • Complying with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and managing conflicts professionally.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
