What You’ll do

The Cashier plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth transactions. You will be the frontline representative, responsible for greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

1. Deliver outstanding service through clear communication and active listening.
2. Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
3. Follow the cashier script to assist customers and educate them on programs like the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
4. Handle cash management, returns, layaway, and exchanges accurately following company policies.
5. Communicate professionally and cheerfully with customers and associates.
6. Provide product information and answer basic inquiries, offering recommendations when appropriate.
7. Coordinate with loaders and respond promptly to customer requests for assistance.
8. Execute transactions efficiently, prioritize timely service, and resolve price disputes professionally.
9. Stand at the designated area to assist customers when not engaged in transactions.
10. Promote the Rural King loyalty program and its benefits, including special offers and points.
11. Introduce the Rural King Visa card benefits to customers.
12. Respond to calls with professional phone etiquette, identifying the store and yourself.
13. Reconcile registers and file paperwork accurately.
14. Deactivate EAS devices or spider wraps as needed.
15. Maintain awareness to prevent loss and deliver excellent customer service.
16. Perform cashier duties including stocking, cleaning, and managing registers.
17. Refill popcorn and coffee stations timely.
18. Keep shopping carts and restrooms clean.
19. Use office equipment effectively.
20. Participate in cross-training and learning initiatives.
21. Provide friendly support to customers and team members, addressing inquiries promptly.

23. Perform other duties as assigned.
