Role Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at checkouts.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tender types such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
• Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons following established policies.
• Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
• Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Promote safety by following procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and participating in safety programs.
• Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering product questions.
• Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
