Responsibilities include:

• Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhering to company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and working honestly to control loss.
• Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Staying current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforcing safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or issues.
• Practicing preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
• Complying with all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
