Job Description:
Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a centre in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrolment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
- Opens & Close registers and cashiers
- Settle registers: run and verify Daily registers Total reports with student payment received
- Receive and apply student payments
- Promptly post payments to student accounts to ensure the most updated account information.
- Assist students/parents to resolve online payment issues
- Ensure the accuracy of payment posting activity and make necessary corrections to the student account
- Solely manage Camp's in-house tuition payment plan program designed to make paying for college more affordable to students and parents; initiate terms and ensure payments are received
- Responsible for communicating with Financial Aid and Enrollment services to fix any discrepancies or to make corrections needed to accurately adjust student accounts
Wage employees cannot exceed 1,500 hours of work within a 12-month period, specifically from May 1st through April 30th each year.
Minimum Qualifications:- Ability to apply knowledge of basic office practices, procedures and equipment.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentially, exercise judgment, multitask, promote diversity, and maintain a positive attitude in a demanding work environment.
- Ability to manage monetary transactions: Use a Point-of-sale (POS) system, collect payment, and issue receipts.
- Demonstrated experience with MS Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook.
Additional Considerations:- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
- Excellent customer service, written and communication skills with external and internal customers.
- Applies knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and basic mathematics.
