Responsibilities include:

  • Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
  • Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhering to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss control.
  • Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Processing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
  • Staying updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  • Complying with all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers, answering product questions within the department and store.
  • Following all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
