Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current, seasonal, and promotional ads.
• Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products.
• Follow all relevant laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications
