Responsibilities include:

  • Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Complying with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying management.
  • Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers and assisting with product questions.
  • Following all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Managing conflicts professionally and respectfully.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Supporting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
