Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and adhering to company policies on discounts, coupons, and special offers.
- Maintain awareness of cash limits and work honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines regarding restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and report equipment issues.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
- Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
