Job summary

Roger’s Gardens is hiring a cashier to provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale and to handle payment for goods sold. The role requires balancing the cash drawer, maintaining accuracy in pricing, and delivering courteous, friendly service to guests.

The ideal candidate will be able to stand for at least 8 hours, lift up to 25 pounds, and work well with colleagues while following company policies. Prior cashier experience is preferred.

• Point of Sale for customer transactions.
• Responsible for handling large amounts of cash.
• Responsible for totaling and balancing register drawer.
• Providing courteous and friendly service.
• Attempting to find answers for all customers questions and needs.
• Responsible for re-pricing returns at the registers.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of basic cashiering skills
• Skill in operating various equipment, such as a cash register and calculator.
• Ability to stand on feet for at least 8 hours.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to communicate and work well with other employees.
• Ability to perform repetitive work.
• Ability to learn and retain various information, such as codes and prices on products, product information and operations at registers.
• Ability to apply written communication skills in filling out necessary paperwork.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
