Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
  • Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand POS system operations and handle various tenders, including cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss honestly and effectively.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming advertisements.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Promote safety by following procedures, identifying hazards, and reporting issues.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
