Job summary

University of Utah's George S. Eccles Tennis Center is hiring a part-time Cashier for front desk duties.

You will greet guests, process payments using the reservation system, and assist with court bookings and questions about pricing and services. Responsibilities include opening and closing the facility, maintaining a tidy work area, answering the main phone, and supporting the Facility Manager and coaches.

Qualifications

  • Cashiering and hospitality experience preferred.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills required.
  • Demonstrated human relations and friendly communication skills.

Collects payments from customers renting indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Books and cancels reservations for customers. Answers the facility phone to assist with any questions or concerns that may arise. Assists facility manager with various front desk tasks. Often working the front desk without a supervisor around to assist.

Within the framework of University policy, the Cashier has the authority to carry out transactions related to the collection of payment for fees, fines, tickets, and purchases, and to give directions and respond to general questions. The Cashier is responsible for handling and safekeeping of cash during the shift. Requests for exceptions to policy are referred to the supervisor.
