Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at checkouts.
- Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
- Adhering to company policies on cash shortages/overages and controlling loss.
- Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Managing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Performing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment issues.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and store navigation.
- Following all applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts professionally and ethically.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
- Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
