Job Description: Cashier at Kroger

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The role involves processing transactions accurately, understanding POS systems, and adhering to company policies on cash handling, restricted items, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include:

1. Processing customer transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane.
2. Handling various tenders, including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers.
3. Adhering to cash shortage/overage limits and loss prevention policies.
4. Following guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
5. Reporting pricing discrepancies and staying current with ads and promotions.
6. Maintaining food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and practicing preventive maintenance.
7. Creating a welcoming environment for customers and providing assistance as needed.
8. Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
9. Managing conflict professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
10. Supporting customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
