Qualifications

• Education and/or experience completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accounting bookwork practices at the store including reconciliation and recording of drawers, balancing the office cash, lottery, and stamps.
• Research and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Prepare bank deposits or assist with their preparation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers questions and helps resolve concerns in a polite and professional manner.
• Follow company policies relating to customer checkout to increase satisfaction.
• Assist customer service with answering phone calls with a polite and positive attitude.
• Monitor cashiers and lot attendants and provide feedback to management.
• Follow and enforce front-end policies and procedures.
• Participate in training front-end associates to ensure productivity, speed, accuracy and courtesy.
• Enforce company policies and government regulations; operate front-end scanning equipment and register, bag merchandise efficiently.
• Maintain accuracy during transaction, ensure proper charges and funds collection, including cash, checks, and coupons.
• Maintain security measures and cash drawer accounting; avoid overages/shortages.
• Follow store and legal guidelines regarding sale of tobacco and alcohol.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, promotions and store layout; answer customer questions.
• Ensure sanitation and cleanliness per health and OSHA requirements.
• Dispose of trash properly.
• Cooperate with coworkers and superiors to keep store functioning smoothly.
