Job summary

SpartanNash in St. Joseph, Michigan is seeking a Cash Office Associate to perform all phases of the store's cash office operations with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

You will support cashiers in line with store policies, operate the cash register, balance cash to the ledger, and uphold security procedures while maintaining guest satisfaction and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented and trustworthy.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets).

Responsibilities

• Observe strict confidentiality of all company records and financial information and safeguard against unauthorized access.
• Support front-end activities to help ensure cashiers follow store policies when handling transactions.
• Follow all policies pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, etc.
• Operate cash register, display cost of purchases, make change, cash checks, and issue receipts.
• Balance cash and media to ledger and ensure cash is controlled and deposited.
• Maintain records on cash controls for internal audits.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines and Food Safety/Cleaning expectations.
• Contribute to Guest Experience guidelines and assist in other departments as needed.
