This role is responsible for developing, planning, and organizing resources to achieve department goals, objectives, and budget targets, while maintaining strict compliance with all applicable policies and procedures in a controlled environment. The level of work required is considered advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal to no supervision. This job has direct reports.Your ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibility for the night shift operation, with accountability for coordinating departmental processes and initiatives across both shifts.Manage the operations of the Cash Services Department under the direction of the Cash Services Officer.Oversee one or more functional units, ensuring adequate staffing and training to support business needs.Develop, plan, and organize resources to meet department goals, objectives, and budget targets.Ensure strict compliance with all policies and procedures within controlled environments and valuables handling areas.Coordinate employment decisions, including selecting qualified personnel, evaluating performance, recommending salary adjustments, promotions, terminations, and employee training and development.Provide support for developing plans and recommend department quality, productivity, and service level goals based on Branch, District, and System standards.Monitor and manage daily department/unit activities, including receipt, processing, shipping, and destruction of currency and coin.Resolve operational problems and take corrective action to ensure effective operations and adherence to controls.Maintain effective communication and coordination between the Cash Services Department and external entities, other Bank departments, Branches, Reserve Banks, and financial institutions.Ensure proper application of all governing procedures, including Custody Control Standards, Federal Reserve Currency Operational Manual, District Procedure Manual, and other documents.Plan for staffing needs and select qualified staff to meet current and future requirements; train and develop staff for operational depth and maximum use of strengths.Counsel subordinate staff on performance expectations and progress; recommend personnel actions including disciplinary actions and terminations under the Bank’s progressive discipline policy.Collaborate with other managers to coordinate, develop, and recommend operating and capital budgets; monitor expenditures and explain variances; recommend actions to meet operational requirements.In collaboration with the leadership team, develop coaching plans, implement development discussions and/or learning opportunities to build knowledge and depth of team’s proficiencyYour BackgroundBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience as in 5+ years of professional work experience.Experience managing direct reports and overseeing functional units.Strong business acumen and talent management leadership competenciesAbility to use MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and automated information technology systemsAbility to work extended hours.Intermediate analytical skills including sound business judgment and ability to think independentlyEffective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence peer leaders and business partnersStrong attention to detail and organization skillsStrong interpersonal relationship building skillsWhat we OfferComprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401k savings plan, retirement plan, paid time off, transit benefit, onsite gym and subsidized cafeteriaA learning environment with opportunities to gain new skills and grow your careerAdditional RequirementsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job.
