Job summary

Amrize in Greenbelt, MD is seeking a Cash Applications Specialist to ensure accurate cash application to invoices and account reconciliation. You will follow procedures, apply payments, and generate statements for customers.

The role demands attention to detail and a commitment to safety policies while supporting audit integrity, reports on outstanding balances, and daily balancing of cash and card payments. A high school diploma is required.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile customer balances and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure payments are properly applied to invoices and generate updated statements.
  • Prepare reports on significant outstanding balances.
  • Review and apply select customer payments.
  • Balance cash and credit card payments daily.
  • Research unapplied cash or credit payments as needed.
  • Support collection reports and delinquent accounts.
  • Assist with archiving, records retention and audits.
  • Escalate unresolved issues; coordinate with plant shippers/batchers.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ensures accurate cash application to invoices and account reconciliation.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work
    environments and areas.
  • Follows established procedures for cash application and account reconciliations.
  • Performs routine follow up on COD customers and applies payments as necessary.
  • Reconciles customer balances with focus on resolving payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure that customer payments are accurately applied to invoices for purposes of reconciling accounts
    and preparing updated customer correspondence and accurate statements.
  • Generates reports of significant outstanding balances.
  • Review and apply select customer payments
  • Daily balancing of all Cash and Credit Card Payments
  • Review and research unapplied cash or credit payments in select cases
  • Review and provide input and insight for collection reports summaries including those that measure the
    process against stated targets, and delinquent customer reports
  • Archiving, records retention and audit support
  • Escalate unresolved issues/concerns
  • Work with plant shippers/batchers to insure proper procedures are being done.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and
    environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these
    behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or years of equivalent experience

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved
    Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicablelaw, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal
    meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
