Job summary

CFS, a manufacturer and distributor serving the electrical and mechanical industries, is seeking a Cash Application Specialist to own cash application, reconcile payments, and support AR and month-end close in a fast-paced B2B environment.

You will apply ACH, wire, checks, and card payments, research discrepancies, maintain records, and collaborate with AR, Credit & Collections, Sales, and customers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cash application, AR, or related experience.
• Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• ERP experience is a plus (preferably JDE).

Responsibilities

• Apply ACH, wire, check, and credit card payments accurately to customer accounts.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash.
• Reconcile customer accounts and use Excel to identify and correct out-of-balance transactions.
• Proactively research customer accounts and follow up for missing remittance information.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
• Maintain accurate cash application records and identify opportunities to improve processes.
