Job summary

Mondo in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a CASG Supercomputing Operator I to provide operational and technical support for a high-performance computing environment, including system monitoring, hardware troubleshooting, and data center operations.

You will monitor site networks, review tickets, install servers, document activities, and collaborate with teams; 1-2 years IT experience and strong Linux knowledge are preferred.

Job Title: CASG Supercomputing Operator I
Location-Type: Cheyenne, WY - onsite
Start Date Is: 2 weeks from VO
Duration: C2H 6 months, with the goal to convert
Compensation Range: $22/hr - $28/hr W2

Job Description

Provide operational and technical support for a high-performance computing environment, including system monitoring, hardware troubleshooting, customer support, documentation, and data center operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor site network, systems, and services.
• Perform remote monitoring of systems at other locations.
• Review and manage support tickets.
• Provide call center, customer, service, and vendor support.
• Document completed activities and develop procedures.
• Maintain data center asset, inventory, network, and power information.
• Process and document change controls and communications.
• Install servers and other equipment in the computer room.
• Troubleshoot hardware and understand how hardware issues can impact software.
• 1-2 years of professional IT experience or a recent college graduate with relevant working experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments.
• Hardware troubleshooting experience and an understanding of how hardware interacts with software.
• Experience supporting internal customers and maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Strong documentation, logging, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and take on varied job functions.
• Demonstrated job stability and longevity in previous roles preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of DBMS technologies such as MySQL.
• Experience with CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu, or similar Linux environments.
• Ability to develop and troubleshoot scripts in shell environments such as Bash or Tcsh.
